Ethan & Isaac

It has been great to have all my grandchildren here this month. Ethan and Isaac wanted to learn how to golf. After practicing in our yard, we took them a couple of times to the junior course at Sandcreek. We knew that Ethan would catch right on and he did. I hope he can continue with the sport and maybe join the golf club at school if they have one.

We were surprised at how well Isaac did and at how much he enjoyed it. We thought he might be too young and un coordinated but he seemed to be a natural and his excitement over the game was infectuious.

Piper enjoyed the play equipment at Leo's Place. She didn't even want to stop to eat her pizza. She was asleep as soon as we got in the car to go home. She had used up all of her energy.

The Cowboy

Piper was playing outside. She came and told me to come and see the cowboy. I was busy so I didn't go right away. She kept insisting that I come and see the cowboy. She said he was cute. This got me curious. I followed her out front and discovered that she was calling the wooden moose that Sherwin made a cowboy. She was picking flowers and dandylions and putting them on the antlers. She kept saying "isn't my cowboy cute?"

Here she is all in smiles with her "Cute"Cowboy"

The next day she wanted me to put flowers in her hair like her "Cute Cowboy" How adorable 3 year old girls can be!

Crooks Drama

I'm writing this from the Ameritel in Idaho Falls. Our flooded basement drama continues.....

Today we discovered that the problem is with a pipe on the outside of the house caused by water we use in the basement. We now have the following:

1. Carpet torn up in the computer room
2. Pad for carpet destroyed
3. A hole in the wall to access a pipe
4. A hole next to the foundation outside
5. A broken pipe
6. A destroyed bush in our landscaping
7. A muddy pile of dirt in our front yard
8. No water use in the house (thus the Ameritel)

We also found out that our insurance company will only pay for things that happen to our house. So they will pay for the All American Restoration bill for cleaning up the water mess. A new carpet and pad. and to repair the hole in our wall for access to the pipe. They will not pay for the back hoe, the plumber or and of the materials it will take to replace the broken pipe or any of the damage done to our landscaping.

It will take us a lot of labor to put things back together again. I hope it is all fixed by the time you all come for the family reunion.

I got a new look today also. I had some highlights put in my hair. They will take some getting use to.

Father's Day

Sherwin's daughter, Suzanne came from Alpine, Utah to spend Father's Day with Sherwin. We took a drive up to West Yellowstone and Stopped at Mesa Falls. When we went past Macks Inn I thought about the camping trip with Jacob, Joe and Jessica in the Coffee Pot Campground and floating in the rubber raft down the river. Remember the dead beaver? We also went on some great hikes and had a snowball fight on top of the mountain.

This N That

The past week was mundane in a good way. I had Thursday off and it just seemed good to stay home and get a little caught up on things.

I've been working on the Family cook book which is turning out to be quite time consuming but fun also. I'm quite pleased with it. I would like to have at least a couple entrys from every family member. So if you haven't sent one.......

I picked up my new glasses. They are trendy (for me) They have the decorated thicker ear pieces that were in style in the 60's, then out of style and are currently in style again. They are also colored burgandy with white mother of pearl. I would love to see the image you all have in your mind now (hee-hee) I also got some bargain basement wall paper boarder at Big Lots that I hung in our computer room downstairs. It is nice to have a change.

Saturday Jane came over and we worked on a project for the family reunion. We spotted this beautiful bird on our front lawn. It is called a Western Tanager. We had to look it up on the internet. I don't think I have ever seen one like it before. I've seen more different species of birds than ever before this year. It makes me wonder if it is because of the odd weather patterns we are experiencing in the US.

Gas hit the $4.00 a gallon mark here today. We are being encouraged by the church to try to put away a 3 month food, water and money storage. I was watching a report on CNN and they were suggesting the same thing (3 months food, money and water) On the flip side of the coin...at the Credit Union I have recently loaned for 3 camp trailers and diesel mega trucks. However. more people are trying to trade in their large vehicles for ones that get better gas mileage.
